Welcome to our site!

Welcome to the home page of the St.Louis Regional Traffic Safety Council. The Council was founded in 1960 and has grown to about 70 member agencies ranging from large and small police agencies, corporations and businesses, as well as the recent addition of Fire Departments and Districts. The Traffic Safety Council has become one of the leading traffic safety education and enforcement organizations in the Midwest.

Our Mission
In recent years the Council has focused on a traffic enforcement program called “Operation Impact”.  Operation Impact is a joint effort encouraged by the Missouri Department of Highway Safety and is conducted on the west side of the state in the Kansas City area as well.  Although everyday the Police agencies work hard to enforce traffic safety throughout the region, in the St. Louis Area the first Wednesday of the month is given special attention for enforcement in areas such as speed, seat belt use, and Driving While Intoxicated.  The member agencies attempt to step up enforcement on those days to make an impact on traffic safety.
